From “12 variations K265”

“Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” is a popular nursery rhyme. The lyrics are from an English poem “The Star” by Jane and Ann Taylor. The music is a popular French folklore tune “Ah! Vous dirai-je, Maman”. Mozart based his “Twelve Variations”on this tune, as he loved it’s simplicity and charm. A great addition to a school orchestra program, as it allows to choose a soloist amongst the orchestra.

HomeOrchestra arrangements of classical music standards is a very desirable addition to a school orchestra repertoire. It allows to choose a member of any group – keyboards, strings, woodwinds or brass – and give them an unprecedented opportunity to shine as a soloist of a symphonic orchestra from the youngest age!
