Description

“Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini” is concert work, written by Rachmaninov towards the end of this life, when he was living in Switzerland. It is a set of 24 variations based on Niccolo Paganini’s most famous “Caprice”, the variation n.18 is by far the best known, and it is often classical music compilations without the rest of the work. Even Rachmaninov himself recognized the appeal of this variation, saying “This one is for my agent”.

HomeOrchestra arrangements of classical music standards is a very desirable addition to a school orchestra repertoire. It allows to choose a member of any group – keyboards, strings, woodwinds or brass – and give them an unprecedented opportunity to shine as a soloist of a symphonic orchestra from the youngest age!
