From ballet “Swan Lake”

“Swan Lake” is another immensely popular ballet by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. The scenario was fashioned from a Russian folk tale and tells the story of Odette, a princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer’s curse. Act 3 of the ballet takes place in a palace, where costume ball is held. A great addition to a school orchestra program, as it allows to choose a soloist amongst the orchestra.

Includes: demo MP3 / “minus soloist” play-along mp3 / conductor’s score / full orchestra parts / pianist solo part

Description

“Swan Lake” is another immensely popular ballet by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. The scenario was fashioned from a Russian folk tale and tells the story of Odette, a princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer’s curse. Act 3 of the ballet takes place in a palace, where costume ball is held. Guests from different countries arrive and perform, amongst them Italians from Naples, hence the “Neapolitan Dance”. Themes from “Swan Lake”have endured countless covers, and remain one of the most widely used pieces of classical music material in modern television, film, circus, theater, animation industries and computer games.

HomeOrchestra arrangements of classical music standards is a very desirable addition to a school orchestra repertoire. It allows to choose a member of any group – keyboards, strings, woodwinds or brass – and give them an unprecedented opportunity to shine as a soloist of a symphonic orchestra from the youngest age!
