Description
“Una Furtiva Lagrima” – Italian for “A Furtive Tear” – is an air sung by Nemorino, a young peasant from Donizetti’s famous opera “Elixir of Love”. Nemorino has given Adina – a wealthy landowner he is in love with – a love potion, to get her to love him back. When he sees that she shed a tear of happiness, he knows that she loves him. This area is very famous, it was one of highlights in the repertoire of Luciano Pavarotti, an illustrious Italian tenor.
HomeOrchestra arrangements of classical music standards is a very desirable addition to a school orchestra repertoire. It allows to choose a member of any group – keyboards, strings, woodwinds or brass – and give them an unprecedented opportunity to shine as a soloist of a symphonic orchestra from the youngest age!
