“Sabre Dance” is a fragment from final act of Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian’s ballet “Gayane”, in this scene dancers display their skill with sabers. This song has became immensely popular, especially in the USA. Due to its popularity, “Newsweek” suggested that 1948 could be called “Khachaturian Year”! That year, three versions of the “Sabre Dance” reached number one in the Billboard Best-Selling Records by Classical Artists.
