Description

Four Seasons is a group of four concertos for violin and chamber orchestra. Each of these concertos gives a musical expression to a season of the year. It is the best known of Vivaldi’s works. Vivaldi went to great lengths to relate the natural occurrences such as rain, storm, frozen crisp air and blossom into the music on the page. Each of the “Seasons” comes with a poem – allegedly written by Vivaldi himself, that elucidated aspects of that season, and what his music was intended to evoke. It became one of the earliest and best examples of what was later called program music.

HomeOrchestra arrangements of classical music standards is a very desirable addition to a school orchestra repertoire. It allows to choose a member of any group – keyboards, strings, woodwinds or brass – and give them an unprecedented opportunity to shine as a soloist of a symphonic orchestra from the youngest age!
